I always love hearing others’ stories and how they got to where they are. So I thought it would be fun to share a few fun facts about my life so far!
1. I lived in Calgary, Alberta until age 27. I am now a dual Canadian-American citizen.
2. I met my then-Marine husband online, met in person one month later in Monterey, California, then got married and moved to California nine months later.
3. When I was 7 months pregnant, my husband was unexpectedly deployed to the Iraq War and he didn’t come home until our daughter was a few months old.
4. We have two kids (19 and 16), one cornish rex cat (age 11) and two toy poodles (age 5 and 3).
4. We’ve lived in San Diego (4 years), North Carolina (4 years), Oahu Hawaii (3 years), and back to San Diego for the past 12 years.
5. I taught myself photography 15 years ago when I lived in Hawaii. We were having a family photo shoot on the beach and the photographer showed up wearing her baby on her back. I was so impressed and it gave me the confidence to try it myself!
6. I homeschooled both my kids up to grade 7. During that time, I spent years photographing them daily and created a few vimeo photo slideshows.
7. Favorite jobs I’ve had – Web Designer & Developer, Realtor, Photographer, and now Fashion Blogger.
8. Why Denim Is the New Black and fashion blogging? I am an obsessive researcher by nature. I love mixing the art of photography, fashion, and writing. And I love helping other women. My favorite thing is getting private messages asking for specific help in finding something! My inbox is always open.
