The beauty and home section of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is really good this year. We narrowed this down to what we actually have and love + what we are actually adding to our carts!
BEAUTY PICKS
All the Le Labo!
A Must – The Perfume! I ditched perfume for ages – not really sure why…but Tammy introduced me to Le Labo’s scents and now I’m officially a perfume addict. These are my three favorites in one set! This is perfect for traveling – or if you’re new to Le Labo, the perfect starter set to try them out.
I have long loved the Le Labo hand soap – stocking up!
And Santal scented candles? Sold! One of my favorite fragrances (also included in the perfume sampler).
Bath & Shower Stuff
Le Nécessaire – I’ve heard so many good things about these products – really excited to try this body wash and lotion!
Shower Oil – I love this shower oil – especially for shaving my legs. It leaves my legs smooth and moisturized. Stocking up on this.
Tata Harper Resurfacing Mask
I’ve never tried this brand but I’ve heard great things. I’m super picky about skincare – I’m intrigued by this one and may try.
For Great Lashes & Brows
I swear by these products. I have noticed dramatic growth in my lashes and much fuller brows. It does take a little time – for the lashes, I think you start seeing improvement more quickly (a month or so). The brows require a bit more patience (a couple months).
Once you achieve the desired growth, you can reduce the use to every other night to maintain. I can’t recommend these products highly enough.
A Fan Fave Mascara + Brow Kit
I am not loyal to a specific brand of mascara – I bounce around. This is a really good one though! It is however not a clean mascara. (Side note – if you’re looking for a clean mascara, I’ve recently been using Westman Atelier and I’m really liking it. Not in the sale.)
Anastasia Brow Pencil & Gel – This set includes the fan fave brow wiz and gel. A great set to amp up your natural brows.
Laura Mercier Caviar Sticks
I have and love these caviar sticks – creamy and effortless to apply – even for those us who are not so amazing at makeup application. They also stay put all day with minimal creasing. Beautiful colors in this trio – a great buy.
Gorgeous Makeup Palettes
Charlotte Tilbury – Tammy here: I recently discovered Charlotte Tilbury makeup and I am in love. My absolute favorite of everything I’ve bought is the eyeshadow palettes. The colors are amazing and easy to apply/blend, but the primer is also built-in and I get almost zero creasing, even after a full day of wear. The best!
Tom Ford – have never tried Tom Ford makeup, but the colors in these palettes are so ridiculously pretty that I had to include them.
Setting Spray
Tammy here: I bought this set at last year’s sale. I kept one and gave one to my daughter. We both LOVE it and have pretty full bottles still. Only four sprays to set your entire face. I find my makeup definitely stays fresher when I use this. Totally worth it and this is a great price.
A Makeup Mirror
This Simplehuman makeup mirror gets great reviews. It’s an eight-inch sensor mirror with 5x magnification that lights up automatically as your face approaches. It’s also super sleek and pretty to leave out on your counter. If only I had room (teeny tiny bathroom in my old house).
Slip Pillowcases (& Hair Ties)
Everyone should have a silk pillowcase (Tammy and I both have and love), and these are the best! I’m a side sleeper and rarely wake up with that side wrinkle since sleeping on silk. Also it’s much better for your hair – less drying, less frizz, less bed head. And yes, we machine wash ours!
I also love the silk scrunches for sleeping – gentle on your hair and comfortable too. They are silk and therefore slippy, so I only use them to sleep in, and keep the hair on top of my head.
These also make amazing gifts!
Beauty Gadgets
The One I Own…
I have and love this set. It doesn’t replace a professional micro needling treatment, but I do feel like it helps with product absorption. I typically use mine every other night – after cleansing and before products. You do need to replace the microneedling head once every few months.
The Ones I’m Considering…
Dr.Dennis Gross Steamer – I know myself, I’m totally getting this. The set includes a “pro facial steamer that hdraytes and purifies the skin in one simple step, revealing a dewy, soothed complexion.” Plus 5 aaopha beta daily peels and a pore refining serum. I’m super excited for this one…a facial steamer has been on my list for awhile now. I’m all about an at-home spa type treatment. (Use 1-2x per week)
LED Light Therapy for Wrinkles – I’m intrigued, it gets great reviews. But I’m skeptical. If anyone has this, I’d love to hear about it.
Rose Gold Facial Cleanser – This gets good reviews. It has over 7,000 vibrations per minute and is described as leaving a deep clean, lifting, firming and toning. \
Hair Tools
I have the Bio Ionic flat iron and it’s really good – and much less expensive than the Dyson. I am admittedly in love with my Dyson hairdryer but it is pricey. This Bio Ionic one gets amazing reviews and on sale is half the price of the Dyson. And lastly, this curling iron is the perfect size for those loose, beachy curls. I don’t personally own this one but it is also reviewed highly.
A Good Dry Shampoo (no build-up)
My Nordstrom stylist is a self-proclaimed hair product junkie and she says this is her favorite dry shampoo – and she promises that it doesn’t leave any build-up. I’m going to try this one!
HOME PICKS
The Blankets
I have four of the first blankets and I’m ordering more (one for my college-bound kid, too!) These are, quite literally, the best money I’ve ever spent on a blanket…in my life. I’m forcing Rachel to buy them. I’ve washed them probably 40 times and they still look brand new. Lots of beautiful colors to choose from!
I do not have the second one, but it is 100% organic cotton and by Boll & Branch (one of my favorite sheet sets)!
The last is by Barefoot Dreams. These are always popular, super soft, and even make wonderful gifts. Lots of beautiful colors to choose from.
Blankets to Take to the Park
We spend a lot of time in the park during the summer – these would be perfect for those concerts or picnics.
A Dog Sweater
I’m ordering one for each of my toy poodles (different colors). We usually walk them at night and have to put a sweater on them in the winter to prevent shivering. Super excited about these! And never fear — I will post a picture of them!
A Theragun
Rachel and I have both tried these and WANT. I think I would make my husband use this on my shoulders every night, especially after all the hours spent working on the blog…bliss!
Candles
We both love candles in the fall and winter. Nothing sets an ambiance better!
Jewelry Boxes
These are like little works of art. One for home and one for travel!
Kitchen Essentials
Rachel swears by the spoons. I actually need new knives. We are both constantly having to replace our kitchen towels…teenagers and all that, ha!
An Artful Electric Kettle
Okay, this is probably the most gorgeous kettle I’ve ever seen. I’ve had my kettle forever and we use it almost every day for making tea and other things.
An Indoor Garden
In California we are pretty lucky to have a long growing season, but Rachel is considering one of these, especially to try growing herbs indoors.
Hydro Flasks!
We LOVE Hydro Flasks in our house. I’ll never buy another brand of water bottle again. These are the only ones that don’t leak and there is no weird metallic taste.
A Vacuum
Everyone loves Dyson. While I don’t have one, I have heard amazing reviews and this is the first year it’s been available!
That wraps up our recommendations for the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in the Beauty and Home picks. We will continue updating our list once we’ve gone in-store to look and as our orders come in.
