We can’t forget the Men in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale! There are some great deals in the menswear section of the sale this year. I went thru and picked out the pieces that my husband has and loves or the ones he would actually buy. For this article, I concentrated on casual menswear (not workwear).
The Base Layers, I Guess You Could Say…
Tommy John undies are my husbands favorite and basically all he buys now.
These are the undershirts that my husband swears by – also Tommy John. They are “stretchy, pill-resistant cotton jersey that dries faster and keeps you cooler than your normal cotton.”
And Bonobos makes amazing socks for men – stock up!
For Sleeping
Yep, Tommy John again. It’s a theme. And if he likes slippers, Uggs are the best.
For Working Out
These Zella shorts and performance tees are basically perfect for the gym. And Tammy’s workout buddy has raved about these Cloudflow sneakers (she even bought a pair for herself). If your guys needs new gym sneaks, these are definitely worth a look.
The Summer Uniform
Tammy’s husband has been wearing Robert Barakett tops for years and says they are amazing. They get a ton of good reviews and come in a bunch of amazing colors. 100% pima cotton and a great price – adding a few of these to my husband’s list for sure.
And Tammy and I were both gushing over this Theory polo in a cotton/modal blend. We love the buttonless style and it’s Theory so sure to be amazing quality. We are both grabbing one of these for our guys.
And last but not least, these are my husband’s favorites shorts for Summer. They are stretchy and comfortable but easily dress up.
The Other Tees That Caught My Eye
I love a henley, and this one by Vince looks amazing. And a good stripe tee is perfect for adding interest.
Our Other Favorite Polos
Theory, Rag and Bone and Faherty – all amazing brands and quality. These are all really really good.
The Casual Button Downs
I love every single one of these. These are the types of shirts my husband reaches for when we go out to dinner etc.
The Rugged Plaids
My husband has a bit of an addiction to plaid shirts in the Fall and Winter. I guarantee he’ll want these if he reads this article – both of these are great colors. No one does plaid better than Rails.
Elevated Pullover/Hooodies
These are gorgeous workhorses. Pick one and he will live in it.
The Jeans with a Modern Cut…That are Still Comfy
Ok, there are a lot of jeans in the sale – and men’s jeans can be tricky. Rather than randomly picking pairs (though I’d concentrate on Fidelity, AG, Paige, and Rag and Bone), I thought I’d share my husband’s favorite pair. He has thicker legs and does not like anything to feel tight or constricting. With the new slimmer cut of jean being “in” for men, he has struggled finding a pair that are both comfortable and current. After many try-ons and frustration, these are the winners for him. So if your husband is in the same boat, I highly recommend giving these a try!
Chinos
These are almost as tricky as jeans. I included all the pairs that caught my eye – some relaxed fit, some slim fit etc. My husband’s favorite brands are Bonobos and Travis Matthew for what it’s worth, but I’m intrigued by the Nordstrom brand performance chinos – they look like they could be good.
Outerwear
My husband picked out this lightweight Theory coat and ordered it for himself. It’s reversible navy/black which is awesome and is just a great, sleek lightweight coat. I will update this article when it arrives – high hopes for this one.
This black North Face down jacket is my favorite casual winter jacket in the sale. I love the refined style of it.
And the Peter Millar leather jacket – I love! My husband has a leather jacket but it’s not the best quality. I’m seriously tempted to grab this one and put it away for Christmas. Seriously good and so versatile – wear this one to the office or out to dinner. A forever piece.
The Shoes
These waterproof Cole Haan Chelsea boots in the black olive color caught my eye. These could be great for evenings out. And the sneakers – well my husband picked these out and ordered them so I’m just leaving them here. You’re either into chucks or you’re not…these are interesting in leather.
The Sunglasses
There are so many amazing men’s sunglasses in the sale…I honestly had a hard time narrowing it down. These are my favorite – and many are polarized!
A New Computer Bag
Both of these Tumi bags would make amazing work bags depending on his personal preferences. This would make an amazing gift for the holidays too.
Because Travel is a Thing Again
If he needs an upgrade – this Tumi suitcase and toiletry bag are both amazing.
