The activewear and intimates section of the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is always a favorite for us. This is the one time of year we try to stock up on all our essentials! To buy the things that rarely, if ever, go on sale! Hanky Panky, we’re looking at you!
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – Activewear
The Fleece Jacket
Okay, so technically maybe this should also be under outerwear, but this is the kind of jacket we wear for walking the dog, hiking, or throwing over our workout gear after the gym. Honestly, though, it’s pretty enough to wear almost any time! I currently don’t have a fleece and this is the one that’s on my list.
UPDATE!
Tammy – we both tried this and love it. Size up one — I got it in M and Rachel got in S. It is not your typical fleece. It has a silky almost fur-like hand to it and it is actually chic…never thought I’d feel that way about a North Face jacket, but there you have it, ha!
The After-Yoga Top
Rachel has this from last year and likes to throw it on after her hot yoga classes! Covered but not too covered! Check out the back!
The Sweatshirts
Sweaty Betty makes Rachel’s favorite joggers (below) and this is the matching sweatshirt. Faherty also makes high quality pieces with a little more style than your traditional basic sweatshirt.

If you like a matching set! Rachel swears by the Sweatty Betty’s as the best joggers she’s ever owned and even dresses them up sometimes!
My Favorite Zella Bottoms
I actually have a handful of Zella items, and each of them are great, but their Crop Lite Leggings are my favorite for a lighter weight legging to use especially during the summer. I am also definitely interested in trying the bike shorts, as they look like the perfect workout length — not too short and not too long!
Sweaty Betty Leggings
Rachel ordered the pink ones – not even for just working out but for having a cute pair to wear wherever!
UPDATE!
Rachel – Ok – to be clear, this was the very last of my try-ons in store…I was hot, sweaty and basically done. But these were a pain to get on – very compression legging. I didn’t even get them all the way up and left them on the dressing room floor. But, it could have been my mood – ha!
Beyond Yoga Sets
We love both of these sets. And Beyond Yoga items are so incredibly soft and supportive.
UPDATE!
Tammy – I saw the first set in store and found it very shiny. Way too shiny for my taste, so it’s a no for me. The second set I actually took into the dressing room to try on (S in bottoms, M in top). Initially I loved the set. BUT my daughter pointed out the dark stitching that runs up the front of the leggings and well…it doesn’t give a very flattering appearance. So, no on those too, sadly!
The No-Show Socks
We both swear by these socks and stock up on them ever year. These are the only socks I wear to the gym.
The Running Shoe
My bff and workout buddy, Marc, won’t shut up about his Cloudflow shoes, haha! I am actually in desperate need of new shoes for the gym (treadmill, elliptical, weights) so I’m going to finally try them on. I’ve been wearing Nike for years, but color me intrigued! I’ll report back with my review!
UPDATE!
Tammy – I tried the grey version on in store in size 8 (they were out of size my normal size 7.5). They were definitely too big, but they felt good and they actually look cute. Plus they are very neutral and will go with all my regular workout gear. I ordered in size 7.5 and will report back further.
Hydro Flasks!
Also posted in the home section, but honestly this is a workout essential for me. I’ll never buy another brand of water bottle again. These are the only ones that don’t leak and there is no weird metallic taste.
Nordstrom Anniversary Sale – Intimates
The Robe
Neither of us have a robe and have been wanting one. I am definitely ordering this in light grey!
UPDATE:
Rachel – This thing is cozy robe perfection. Get it already, I promise you’ll be glad you did. It is a cooler weather robe.
Moonlight Pajamas
We both have these and LOVE them. For the price, you cannot beat them. They are similar to the much pricier Eberjey. This is the time to stock up. I have both the short and long but noticed the nightshirt for those who prefer that style!
Rails Pajamas
I have never tried Rails pajamas, but I am absolutely ordering a pair to try. Out of all the pajamas in the sale, these are by far the cutest ones, in our humble opinions!
The Lounge Bras
Okay technically these are deemed “sports bras” however from reading the reviews these are more lightweight or for low impact. I tend to wear this type of bra around the house and to sleep in. My current lounge bras are in DESPERATE need of replacing. I’m ordering these to try. If I can, I’ll be trying more in store and will report back.
The Bralettes
Rachel swears by the True & Co. bras. I’ve never had a lot of success with bralettes myself (32DDD…these babies need more support than a bralette often provides, haha)! If I see in store, I will try on to see how they are for bigger busts.
Natori Underwire Bras
Natori makes one of the few bras I wear and love. I’ve been wearing these styles for more than ten years and I love them. Of course bras fit everyone differently and we recommend trying on in store (and if possible ask for a real fitting by a Nordstrom bra fitter), but once you know your sizing, Natori is pretty true to size! I always stock up on these.

Tammy – I wear and love the first two, but the third was a different style for me. I did try my size in store and found it a bit tight. So if you try it, you might need to go up a size.
The Underwear
Our absolute favorite no-show underwear. These babies are expensive, so we take advantage of this incredible savings to stock up. We both have and wear all of these for different reasons. Jeans and shorts, mostly Hanky Panky. Leggings mostly Chantelle or Commando (see below).
The Commando set
I have some Commando underwear that I love (no VPL!) and Rachel recently bought a Commando bralette that she says is life-changing. I like to have pretty fitted camisoles like this to wear under tops that are a bit more see through. I may try this camisole under the black Frame sweater that is a top pick for us!
