I kept seeing Rowan ads popping up on my screen. It wasn’t until I wandered into a store that I really learned their story. My Rowan clothing reviews are below!

I’m a bit of a tshirt snob. Yes, there was a time I used to buy the $10-20 tshirts. You know the ones which looked good exactly once. And then they would stretch out or shrink or develop those little horrible holes almost immediately. It was so wasteful!
Then I tried a good tshirt and instead of having to buy five in one summer, I’d buy one, and wear the crap out of it, and they actually lasted and looked good. Typically these tops end up getting tossed only when they’ve been truly worn out from over-wear!

Rowan began as a conversation about fatherhood
We asked ourselves: what did we want to leave behind and what kind of lessons did we want to teach?
We wanted to create something that felt like a love letter from a father to a son.
A time capsule.
I got a little teary eyed when I first read their story. My parents were divorced when I was 2 and my brothers and I grew up without a dad for years. We were lucky though, because we had an incredibly strong mother, and our our eventual stepdad was the most wonderful and caring person I could ask for.

T-shirts & Tanks

So as great as their story is, the reality is if the clothes aren’t as good as the story, there would be nothing more to talk about. But whoa, the clothes are good.
When I wandered into the San Diego store (this is where it all started), the wonderful Casie was so incredibly helpful in guiding me in the right direction.
I only had time to try on a few tshirts and tanks (hungry waiting husband…) but what I tried was good. And Casie so kindly gifted me two tshirts so I could give them a thorough try and review!
Note that I get no commission or anything else from sharing these clothes – I just love them so much (both the clothes and their mission). I will be a regular shopper in the future, definitely.

Sizing

I am a true Medium in most tops (thank you wide back/shoulders/bust). The tshirts I tried fit true to size. The Medium fit me perfectlly. They have the perfect drape without being too loose or too snug.
I also love the necklines. Often necklines are too “in between”. I hate those v-necks which are barely lower than crewneck. They have no style and I find them so unflattering. This shows a little skin without showing too much.
I also tried a tank top and though I didn’t buy it (I had just bought a similar one), it’s the perfect ribbed thickness. Good tank tops are hard to find and theirs is fabulous.
Too Short? Nope!
I thought the tshirts would be too short for me because some of the ads made them look short. Guess what?
The Tyler Slub Tee and Deep V Neck Slub are 2 inches longer in body length than our classic Tyler Tee.
OMG, what?! This is something I have wanted forever. None of my favorite t-shirt brands actually do this. All of a sudden life has new meaning. T-shirts that wouldn’t feel too short or come untucked? Where have they been all my life!!

Final Thoughts
I’m absolutely smitten with these tshirts. I wore each of them a couple times before washing and they held their shape and didn’t stretch out at all. I washed cold and hung to dry like I do with all my good tshirts. The slub is thick enough that it’s not see through but no so thick that it’s too heavy.
The slub gives it that extra special something! I will be spending more time with this brand when I have a chance to go in store again and promise to report back with my favorites! The good news – Rowan carries both Men and Women’s clothing! I’ll be dragging my husband along and having him try some things, too!

I also love an organization that stands for something. As someone who grew up without my own father, I know how important it is for children to have a father figure in their lives. I can support a company that sees the world beyond themselves and for that I wholeheartedly applaud them!
