I don’t own a lot of (non-denim) pants, and the ones I have are mostly (maybe all?) black. For one, I find black pants are the most flattering and easy to style. And two, I tend to buy things that I can mix and match with most of my wardrobe. When I was younger, I would fall in love with things I like to call “widow items”. For example, an amazing pair of pants that were gorgeous but went with nothing in my wardrobe. So that gorgeous item would sit in my closet, beautiful but unworn.
My goal is to always minimize my cost per wear. For example, if I buy a pair of $50 pants but wear them only once…my cost per wear was $50! If I buy a pair of $300 pants that I adore and wear them 50 times, my cost per wear was $6, and clearly the better buy. But, at the same time, I don’t want to look like I’m always wearing the same thing. That is why items that mix and match are a good buy. Quality women’s clothes are an investment, but if you buy right, you will have stylish and quality items for many years, saving you money in the long run.
Enter the Allyn pants. I tried them on at Bloomingdales and immediately loved them. I took them home and effortlessly styled these Ramy Brook pants a ton of ways – they did NOT disappoint. These pants can be totally dressed down and then easily dressed up with a few minor changes. They are so incredibly versatile! So here you go! 5 ways to style the Ramy Brook satin Allyn pants.
1 ~ With a t-shirt and sneaks
Pants (TTS) | T-shirt (size up) | Slip-ons (size down ½)
For a spring day outing, I paired them with sneakers or slip-ons and a graphic t-shirt. I have worn this Zadig & Voltaire ‘Je Ne Sais Quois’ t-shirt probably 50 times and it still looks amazing. It’s also a great conversation starter, ha! It washes well and while I usually hang it to dry, I have forgotten a few times and it came out of the dryer without issue.
2 ~ Top with a leather jacket
Pants (TTS) | T-shirt (size up) | Slip-ons (size down ½) | Leather Jacket (similar, TTS)
I like to style the Ramy Brook joggers with a leather jacket for that bit of edge. We were exploring Encinitas, California, and it got chilly near the ocean so I actually wore it most of the day.
3 ~ Make it monochrome with a black sweater
Pants (TTS) | Sweater (TTS) | Heels (similar, TTS) | Bag (different color)
We’ve been trying to do more date nights. As parents, we often focus too much on the kids and not enough on the relationship. Especially now that our kids are teenagers (and our daughter will be starting college in the fall) we are entering a different phase in our relationship and it’s actually become fun again! I planned ahead and brought a thin sweater, heels, and a clutch – a perfect dinner date look, and an easy way to transition from day to night (which these days I seem to be doing a lot of in my car! Ha! Blogger life).
Pants (TTS) | Sweater (TTS) | Heels (similar, TTS) | Bag (different color)
As we were walking to the restaurant for dinner, there was a cute little consignment shop and they had all of their denim on the sidewalk. Kind of perfect for a denim-loving girl, no?
4 ~ Add a cami for the look of a jumpsuit
Pants (TTS) | Camisole (TTS) | Feather bag | Heels (similar, TTS)
And here is what really makes these pants next level amazing – you can style the Ramy Brook joggers to look like a jumpsuit – without the pain in the ass experience of actually having to WEAR a jumpsuit. I have tried pretty much all the jumpsuits over the years. I have a long torso and they just never seem to fit well. And even if they did, going to the bathroom in a public restroom wearing a jumpsuit…enough said.
Well now I have the easy solution – just add a black silk camisole to these pants and voila! Jumpsuit!…plus heels and an ultra-fabulous statement bag, and these pants are party ready. (Can we start having those again soon, please?!)
Pants (TTS) | Camisole (TTS) | Feather bag | Heels (similar, TTS)
I’ve had this Theory Teah stretch silk camisole for over a year and I often wear it weekly. It’s great as an extra layer under sweaters for chilly days, on its own under a cute jacket, or here as a makeshift jumpsuit. One of my favorite items in my closet.
5 ~ Top with a denim jacket
Pants (TTS) | Camisole (TTS) | Feather bag | Heels (similar, TTS) | Denim jacket (M)
And last but certainly not least, style the Ramy Brook joggers with a denim jacket over all black for a super chic look. I’ve searched high and low for the perfect denim jacket for years. This is the one I will never part with. My favorite things about it? The sleeves are raw hem so it’s super easy to roll them up (short arms here, anyone else?) plus the fit is slim and the fabric is stretchy and so incredibly soft. I chose to get medium so that I would have a little extra room to wear sweaters underneath in the fall. This is my favorite wash but there are several great ones to choose from.
That sums up my 5 ways to style the Ramy Brook satin Allyn pants. I hoped this helped show how a quality investment piece that is also versatile is always a closet win!
The Ramy Brook satin Allyn pants are not only crazy comfortable but also unique and special. I highly recommend trying these out. They are TTS and forgiving. I am wearing a size small and there’s plenty of room without being too tight or too loose. Shoot us a note or leave us a comment if you find a new way to style them!

Beautiful!
Totally in love with that feather bag! Just ordered!
You will not regret it! It totally makes an outfit, and you will have it forever. We both have and LOVE it! A favorite for sure.
It’s right up my alley. I’ve always loved feather trimmed dresses but I feel like I am a little too mature for them at this point. This feather bag fills that void for me 🙂 Loving this blog, btw. So fun! I wish I was still doing mine 🙁
