Khakis have slowly started becoming popular again. Over the past six months, I’ve tried a handful of styles, and none felt like me. Most of them were too fitted, too low-rise, or simply put, too boring.
If I’m going to wear or buy something, I have to feel amazing in them…and that goes whether they are $50 or $500.

Wide Leg

It should come as no surprise, but I love wide legs. LOVE. I was one of the first adopters several years ago, and now everyone is going wide-leg crazy. If you haven’t yet tried wide legs, I encourage you to dip your toe in (or a leg…)
People worry that wide leg bottoms aren’t flattering, when in fact, wide legs are much more universally flattering than skinnies.
They are meant to create curves, as they nip you in at the waist and give the illusion of longer legs. However that can be a challenge when trying on a pair which are much too long.
I had so many clients in my dressing room, insisting that wide legs weren’t flattering on them, simply because they were too long. After much encouragement, a good hemming, and a pair of platforms or heels, they make most people look like a million bucks!

How to Style

As these are a wide-leg pant, it’s important to put focus on the waist and create shape. The easiest way to do that is to tuck your top and add a belt for even more definition!
During these colder Winter / Spring months, I will be pairing my ATM twill boyfriend pants with dark tops or sweaters and booties. The contrast of the raw hem feels particularly fresh when paired with dressier items.
Once the temps warm, anything goes. I will be pairing mine with sandals and all the cute summer tops. These are truly a year-long item and a perfect alternative to jeans or black pants.

I, personally, will not be wearing the fitted straight leg style, because I don’t find them as fashion forward or flattering on ME, but remember, everyone is different, so it’s important to experiment!
