A KULE Review – 3 Stripe Tees We Adore

I mean, is there anything more French girl chic that an awesome stripe tee? It is the perfect everyday basic for Spring and Summer and instantly elevates an outfit in a carefree but stylish way. I randomly came across the brand, KULE, and knew that I had to give them a try. They do claim to be “home of the perfect stripe shirt” after all – and also happen to be a celebrity fave.

So here it is… a KULE review – I picked my top 3 favorites to try.

1 – A KULE Review: The Boyfriend

Kule says that this design is based on Brigitte Bardot…I mean, I’m sold!  It has a drop shoulder and a narrow sleeve that make it a bit more feminine. Kule describes it as having a roomy cut, however I found their tops to run a bit on the small side – if between sizes, I would recommend  going with the larger size – but I was fine in my normal size. It is made of 100% cotton knit jersey and definitely has a little stretch, which makes it extremely comfortable. It is on the thicker side – which I love, but also may be better for spring or a cooler summer evening versus a really hot summer day. 

I tried this one in the royal blue stripe, which I wasn’t totally sure about online – but in person, I’m crazy about it. I especially love it paired with washed black denim shorts. You can also see it styled here with a leather jacket and  jeans.

UPDATE: This has been one of my most worn tops of Spring & Summer. If I had to pick one, it would be this one. Yes it is a thicker material so probably not the best for the very hottest days. But it is soft, stretchy perfection – and the sleeves easily stay pushed up. The material makes it look more elevated. You can even dress this one up. This is the one I’ve worn on repeat, and the one I’ll have forever.

2 – A KULE Review: The Modern Long

Kule describes this style as “when day-off, tomboy style gets a Kate Moss finish.” This tee has a straight (boxy) cut that fits a little more snugly across the chest for added femininity. Again, as with all these tops, if between sizes, I would go up. It’s made of an almost tissue-like 100% cotton that is very light and airy – perfect for hot summer days. It also has a bit of stretch, so it’s extremely comfortable and not constricting.

The tee that I am wearing is navy/cream stripe – a classic. I prefer this color combination with distressed denim or shorts, but it is crazy versatile. It’s one of those navys that could almost pass for black, and goes with literally everything.

Ooh guys – this one is new, I am loving the happy colors…rainbow!

UPDATE: I ended up returning this one. It is good, but the material was thinner than I wanted. It is a great tee though and if you live somewhere that is really hot (AZ friends, I’m looking at you) it’s definitely a good option.

3 – A KULE Review: The Baja

A “crop” top to go with all of those ultra high-waisted pants? Yes, please! The cropped length is perfect for pairing with high rise bottoms – but not too cropped – my tummy is safely covered, and I can even tuck it. It is made of a super light 100% cotton and has a drapey fit (I’m beginning to sound like a broken record I know, but if between sizes, go up.) Kule describes it as featherweight and I would agree – perfect for summer. And I adore the sleeve length!

I again tried this one in navy/cream but there is a navy/poppy that I have my eyes on as well. All of the color combinations are so good. Again, this is amazingly versatile, but here I paired it with my favorite Agolde shorts.

UPDATE: I kept this one too! I’ve worn this a fair amount as well but not nearly as much as the boyfriend tee. It is much thinner and slightly cropped (though you can see in this pic that I’m able to do a slight half tuck). This is more of a throw on and go tee – perfect with high rise shorts or distressed jeans. But in my opinion, not quite as elevated as the boyfriend tee.

My Verdict??

I am beyond impressed with the quality and style of these tops. They are closet staples for Spring and Summer…everyday go-tos that are also incredibly chic and versatile. These are the type of tees that you will literally have forever, and they will always be stylish. I had planned to only keep one – but gosh, I can totally make a case for each of these. Decisions, decisions!
