The Ultra Chic Anine Bing New York Sweatshirt Styled 5 Ways

It’s no secret we love Anine Bing – and I’m a super fan when it comes to her graphic tees and sweatshirts. We both adore her University collection which represents Los Angeles, London, Paris, New York & Sydney. I added the New York tee to my collection in the Fall, and Tammy has the London tee. They are all amazing. When we were visiting New York a few weeks ago, I ventured into the Anine Bing store and tried on a few things – including the New York sweatshirt. I debated – did I really need both the tee and the sweatshirt? Well, yes, yes I did.

You can see Tammy wearing her London tee, here, and shockingly, I haven’t photographed my New York tee yet. The tees have a slightly oversized fit – I wear an xsmall and Tammy wears a small. They drape beautifully and are the perfect weight. We both love them everyday with jeans or shorts, and they are great to wear under a blazer.

Now let’s talk the sweatshirts – they are equally as good as the tees. And these University ones are the type you will love forever. I really like that they have more of an understated vibe compared to some of Anine Bing’s others (for example, this newly released one). They have a low-key coolness about them and can be styled a million ways. Size-wise I went with a small (vs an xsmall in the tee) for a little added slouch.

Anine Bing’s sweatshirts are not too thick, definitely not too thin. The graphics are elevated and special, and the colors are spot on (that washed black is my absolute favorite).

I know they are pricey as far as sweatshirts are concerned, but they’re seriously worth every penny. I have one other Anine Bing sweatshirt that I bought 3-4 years ago, and I still wear it a ton. I assure you, these sweatshirts last – with zero pilling or shrinkage. My old one looks as good as the day I bought it, and it’s been worn countless times.

Going Strong Since 2019

Actually! Here, I’m wearing it in Ireland in 2019! (Gosh, it blows my mind how much my kids have changed in 3 years, puberty is a crazy thing.)

Dressed Up A Bit

This is one of my favorite ways to wear these tees and sweatshirts – with dressier pieces like pumps, faux fur, or blazers. It creates such an effortlessly stylish look that’s perfect for cocktails or dinner out. It nails that – I just threw this on and it happens to be incredibly stylish vibe, which is always my ultimate goal. Nobody wants to look like they’re trying too hard.

Style Tip! If you notice, I almost always give this sweatshirt a very slight tuck in the front. That subtle, small tuck helps to define the waist and keep the look polished.

And side note – I know I’m probably sounding like a broken record, but this bag is one of my most-used and versatile year round. Here I swapped out the strap for the black tubular one which dresses it up a bit. It was sold out for a while but finally back in stock, and I’m thrilled.

With Lug Boots

Sometimes I look back at the blog and realize a lot of what I post is “going out” looks. It’s so easy to grab the camera on the way to dinner and take a few quick pics. But my everyday real life? THIS is it. These everyday, thrown together outfits also happen to be some of my very favorites. I’m going to make an effort to start posting more of this.

These lug boots are phenomenal – gosh I could go on and on. They keep selling out, but there are a few sizes in stock right now. Worth it! And these jeans are a fantastic option to skinny jeans. They still have that slim silhouette everyone loves in a skinny but have more of a straight leg and are not tapered at the ankle. This subtle difference makes a world of difference. They are also perfect with snow boots. And score – they’re currently on sale.

I’m going a bit off topic here for a minute. I’ve been giving my camel coat so much love this season. But this is another one of my go-to coats. This Fleurette peacoat in navy is seriously stunning. In person, the color is divine, and the tailoring is utterly perfect. This is hands down one of those buy-once and have it forever coats.

This coat definitely has a lady-like, classic vibe. I love to pair it with it chunky boots, high tops  – anything on the edgier side. I love the juxtaposition it provides. Also at 43, I don’t like to look like I’m trying to rock every trend. This classic piece perfectly rounds out trendier pieces and keeps me far away from the “trying too hard” category.

And guess what you guys?!?! It’s currently on sale at Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack. Sizes are limited and going fast, but I can’t recommend it more.

As you can see, the Anine Bing New York sweatshirt can be styled countless ways – up, down, and for multiple seasons. And I can attest to the quality of these sweatshirts as I’ve been wearing them since around 2018. I know they’re pricey, but they last for years and years. And this New York one is a total classic.
