There are certain pieces that we rely on over and over again, and a silk camisole is one of them. Dressing for the holidays can be overwhelming, but a silk camisole makes it a snap. Add one festive camisole to your wardrobe and mix with pieces you likely already own, and you’re ready for any holiday occasion – from lounging to a cocktail affair.
A Silk Camisole for Lounging
(my personal fave)
Camisole – emerald (small) | Joggers (small) | Shoes
*Note: My cami is only available in limited sizes in this exact color (emerald), however there are so many amazing options that are fully stocked. At the end of this article I included my favorites (with size recommendations).
If I’m being honest, this is my favorite part of the holidays. Lounging around the house with my family and fur babies – fireplace blazing, movies playing (or music in the background), yummy food and lots of good wine. I like to call myself an extroverted introvert – but I lean hard on the introvert side of that.
And if you’re lounging around the house, of course you want to be comfy. But instead of a frumpy old t-shirt, toss on a sexy silk cami for a little sassiness. An instant mood boost – and truly more comfy than that old tee (promise!).
Since we are on the topic of lounging, these Birkenstocks are possibly my most-worn shoe over the past few months. I walk the dogs in them, throw them on for errands and wear them around the house like slippers. They’re good.
A Silk Camisole for Holiday Shopping
Camisole – emerald (small) | Tee (wearing 1) | Boots (similar color) | Bag (similar)
Here, I layered a silk camisole over a James Perse tee – my favorite layering tee because it’s super thin and fitted (aka doesn’t add bulk). And while it’s perfect for layering, I don’t love it for wearing alone – for that, the Anthony ATM Schoolboy tee can’t be beat.
Adding a layer under a camisole makes it wearable when it’s cooler out, and a white tee specifically dresses it down a bit.
Camisole – emerald (small) | Tee (wearing 1) | Boots (similar color)| Coat (TTS)| Bag (similar)
Green and camel has been my favorite color combination all Fall, and I’m not quitting it anytime soon. This outfit is comfortable, chic, NOT fussy and definitely festive.
The Anine Bing coat and Loeffler Randall boots are two of my favorite wardrobe workhorses. I wrote an article styling this Anine Bing coat a ton of ways, but honestly, you can throw it over just about anything. It’s 1000% worth it and would make an amazing Christmas gift. If you’re between sizes, go with the smaller size. It’s meant to have an oversized fit.
A Silk Camisole for Dinner & Drinks
Coat (size 1) | Camisole – emerald (small) | Layering sweater (similar) | Pants (size 4, 25/26 in denim) | Heels (similar) | Bag (same bag, different color)
Similar concept, fancied up a bit. I swapped the white tee for a thin black sweater, and I ditched the jeans and boots for coated denim and pumps. Add a sparkly bag, and this outfit is ready for a cocktail.
I’m obsessed with this tiny crystal clutch by Benedetta Bruzziches – a small company in Italy where the bags are handmade. The quality is amazing and it’s simply stunning in person – I will have this bag forever. Note that the strap is detachable, but I love wearing it as a crossbody (especially if I’m walking around with a cocktail + plate of food). It is small but I can fit my phone (just barely though).
Same Bag – Different Colors
+ A Different Bag – Similar Color (confused yet?)
Coat (size 1) | Camisole – emerald (small) | Layering sweater (similar) | Pants (size 4, 25/26 in denim) | Heels (similar) | Bag (same bag, different color)
Coated pants is another easy way to make an outfit more festive for the holidays. This look would be equally amazing with a simple sweater. Mine are Kut from the Kloth and look much more expensive than they are. This pair by Frame is pricier but perfect – going fast
A Silk Camisole for a Cocktail Party
Cocktail Party? I love getting dressed up, but hate buying something that gets worn once and then collects dust in my closet. This is an easy way to throw together a party ready look without spending a fortune. And these are pieces that can be worn and restyled for years.
- Taffeta Skirt – I actually tried this skirt on in Instagram stories a while back. Under $100, classically elegant and can be styled a million ways.
- Black Trousers – Ok, my black trousers are officially too tight. But that’s OK…it took me 40+ years to get a few curves so I’m not going to beat myself up about it. That being said, I need new black pants. Tammy has these and they look amazing on her.
- The Sparkly Bag (different color) – see above for all the details.
- The Cami
- Sparkly Pumps – Tammy has these, and I seriously love them.
- Statement Earrings – These are just so pretty.
- My Black Puffer – Yep, I’d wear this puffer to a cocktail affair.
- Or Faux Fur – Faux fur is always a good idea.
Our Favorite Festive Silk Camisoles
Cami NYC
This brand runs narrow – I typically size up to a small, and Tammy finds them too narrow overall. So if you’re large busted, these are likely a pass. They fit me perfectly though. Click thru for different colors and size availabilities.
Zadig et Voltaire
These definitely fit roomier than the Cami NYC – I wear an XS in these and Tammy wears a small. The lace detail on the Zadig camis is beautiful – highly recommend. Tammy and I are dying over this hot pink – so fun and unexpected for the holidays, and equally great all Spring and Summer. The velvet cami is on major sale and fully stocked – all the holiday vibes with this one.
Two More Stunners
We’ve never personally tried these camisoles but they are both gorgeous. That dark green is seriously sexy, and the hot pink is similar to the Zadig cami but far less expensive.
A Silk Camisole Makes Holiday Style A Snap
I’m all about taking the stress out of holiday season – and having one piece that I can build outfits around for almost every occasion simplifies getting dressed and takes the thinking out of it. It just works. And the cost per wear for this piece – well, I think you get the idea…

Rachel,
I LOVE this idea of a crew neck black tee under my cami. I’m planning on the cream Alison Joy cami from Evereve. Or maybe I’ll try the black cami over the black tee. Just ordered the James Persee one. Thanks for the idea 💡!
XO Happy Holidays to you both!!!
