I have found the best Free People overalls for women and not only are they cute but also ridiculously fun to wear, and who couldn’t use a little fun in the summer?

I decided early in the year I wanted a pair of overalls after seeing my 19 year old sporting them. Let’s face it though, at 19, she could wear a paper bag and look like a supermodel.
And still, this was me: queue Napoleon Dynamite scene.
I tried a bunch. The results weren’t even good enough to take a quick snapshot (aka BAD). And just when I was about to give up, I wandered into Free People (something I don’t often do).

Enter the Free People overalls for women, in particular, the Savannah. I had been reading rave reviews online but Free People doesn’t usually fit or suit me, so I was skeptical. I knew they had them in stock and I wanted to try them in person.
They only had one color in store (Chilled Out) which I just knew was NOT for me, but at least I could try them for size and style.
Well I walked out of the dressing room and let’s just say there was no way I was going home without them. Biggest surprise of the year, honestly.
Spoiler alert: I am obsessed with them.

Size & Fit

First up, I have a ridiculously long torso. This makes wearing any kind of one-piece garment nearly impossible. No one wants to walk around with a wedgie and that’s usually me with any one-piece.
The Free People Savannah overalls are completely adjustable, woo hoo! Why aren’t all overalls made this way?
Sizing can often be tricky and all over the place with Free People, but these fit generously so instead of going up to medium, I took a size small. I would say most people would be happiest with either their regular size or going down a size.
I’m absolutely obsessed with the wide leg and side slit. They are just fun to wear.

Colors
Okay so while I decided to just go for it and get the bold / bright color (which falls almost perfectly within the color palette from my Color Guru assessment) I know most people will opt for a more neutral color.
This jumpsuit comes in an additional 8 colors (9 total). Not going to lie – I almost want to buy another pair, and I never buy duplicates.

Final Thoughts

One question I know people will ask…but are they flattering? Well only you can decide your comfort level there. Are they tight and traditionally sexy? I mean, they are overalls, so no.
On the other hand, they make me stupidly happy when I wear them (and I’ve worn them a lot already).
And when I’m happy with my outfit, I’m confident. Maybe it’s one of those je ne sais quois moments…I don’t know what.
All I can say is if you have any inkling in your gut to try them, just go for it. You may be surprised.
