What Color To Wear On Valentine’s Day? We Love Hot Pink!

If you’re wondering what color to wear on Valentine’s Day…We love hot pink!

Our favorite looks are effortless, purposeful, and chic. They aren’t overly curated, and read “I just threw this on without much thought but yep, it’s crazy stylish.”

When you’re trying to decide what to wear for Valentine’s Day (whether that’s super casual or a bit fancy), an easy way to infuse some playful style is to add a little color. And what color to wear on Valentine’s Day? Our top pick is hot pink! A little goes a long way.

Silk camisoles are workhorse pieces in our wardrobes. Everyone needs the basics – black, navy, and ivory, but adding a few printed or colorful ones is also a fabulous idea. These camisoles make it such a snap to throw outfits together, and it’s one of our favorite fall-backs when we aren’t quite sure what to wear (or are feeling in a style rut).

I’m wearing the Zadig et Voltaire Christy camisole which is one of our favorites. It runs TTS for both of us – I wear an XS and Tammy wears a small. Cami NYC makes my other go-to camisole which I have in all the basic colors. I size up to a small in Cami NYC and Tammy wears a large (it does run a lot more narrow).

When deciding what color to wear on Valentine’s Day, it doesn’t get better than this hot pink. It does seriously amazing things for your skin and is universally flattering. It’s a year-round color that will also be so good in the Summer with jeans or shorts and sandals.

For more style ideas with camisoles, I also styled an emerald green one a few ways for the holidays (see the article), and Tammy showed how to wear a silk camisole in Winter (here).

Layering a white tee under a silk camisole is a great way to style it down a bit + stay warm in cooler months. My all-time favorite tee for layering is the James Perse slub cotton tee. However, my favorite white tee for wearing solo is by far the Anthony ATM schoolboy tee. A quality white tee is an absolute wardrobe staple that every woman needs (they are not all created equally). Tammy talked about this in her latest article – 2 Things Every Woman Should Own By 40.

And of course, there’s not much more casual than sneaks, and our favorite black Converse go with pretty much everything. For more tips on how to style black Converse, this article shares all!

Dinner plans? I swapped the converse for my favorite black pumps, added a sparkly bag, and threw on a belt for a little added polish. It doesn’t get easier than this. If you wanted to get even dressier, you could easily swap the denim for black trousers. In that case, I’d probably go with a statement pump such as these leopard ones.

Tammy and I adore these L’Agence pumps. They are truly the comfiest heels we have ever worn and are as stylish as ones twice their price. I’ve been eyeing this green pair but they’re mostly sold out. If my size pops back in stock, I may not be able to resist – I’ve been stalking them.

And I haven’t talked much about this sparkly little bag, but I absolutely love it. It’s a Benedetta Bruzziches bag – a small family-owned Italian company where the bags are made my hand. The quality is top-notch and in person these bags are even more exquisite. My exact bag is hard to find, but I managed to spot one remaining linked above. Tammy has a stunning bag by Cult Gaia that is also very similar – see it here.

Nordstrom has a bunch of new Benedetta Bruzziches arrivals that I’ve been drooling over, but they are pricer than mine…

I’d be remiss not to mention these Mother jeans. Tammy bought these a few weeks back and they looked so dang good on her, I had to order them too. See her wearing them here and here.

We really try hard not to buy the same things for blog-purposes, so when we both end up with the same thing, you should definitely pay attention. These jeans are crazy good with an ultra high rise and the coolest distressing – you must check out the back pockets.

And even though they’re rigid denim, they are insanely soft and comfortable. They are TTS but my initial thought was hmmmm…maybe too snug in the waist? I wore them around the house for a few hours and they relaxed beautifully – I’m so glad I didn’t size up. If you’re looking for a cool new pair of jeans, these are our top pick!
