I don’t shop a ton in the hot summer months, but when the temps start to drop (yes, even in San Diego), my heart skips a beat. Here’s my list for what to wear Fall 2024 – denim (or at least what I will be wearing).

I’ve been a little absent from the blog thanks to some gnarly menopause symptoms but feeling better and excited to get back into it!
What To Wear Fall 2024
Denim
First up for what to wear Fall 2024 is everyone’s favorite – denim. I almost never wear jeans in the summer, and dang how I’ve missed them!
It’s no surprise how much I love denim, but I’ve changed my ways. Previously half my closet would be made up of denim. Now I’m down to 5-6 amazing pairs. The key is to minimize overlap in color and style. And I’m sooooo much happier now with fewer choices and each pair getting almost equal wear.
What To Wear Fall 2024
Wide Leg
I was an early adopter of wide leg jeans, but now they are everywhere. My very favorite pair that I’ve been wearing for years is sold out Nili Lotan Josette (ooh one pair left, here). Nili Lotan makes killer jeans and in my top three favorite brands.
Nili Lotan Arwen High-Rise, TTS
The Nili Lotan Arwen Wide Leg are so freaking good. If I didn’t have similar, I would have purchased. But my dear friend (who is very careful about spending money on clothes) bought them on the spot. They are so good and so flattering.
This pair is a nice darker wash with the perfect crop wide leg, which actually fits several parameters in my list! They dress up and down equally well and look great with pretty much any shoe choice.
Nili Lotan Marlene Mid-Rise, TTS
The Nili Lotan Marlene Mid-Rise are a similar style but with a mid-rise. For the longest time I was “Team High Rise” but I’ve started wearing both High and Mid-Rise. I find Mid-Rise to feel a bit slouchier especially when i size up one.

The Citizens of Humanity Ayla are my other favorite wide leg. The fit is incredibly comfortable but also super flattering. And most importantly, the cuffed version look great both cuffed and full length (two pairs in one!)
What To Wear Fall 2024
Straight Leg
Everyone looks great in straight leg jeans, and this is the pair to buy if you only want one “wear everywhere” jean as they are so versatile.
I tend to wear my straight leg jeans either cropped or cuffed right below the ankle bone.
Levi’s actually do straight leg really well and under $100, they are my forever affordable pick!
Levi’s – Affordable Picks!
I love this particular pair of Levi’s Wedgie Straight as they have that great darker wash with the perfect crop. A nice dark wash is great for winter and very on-trend right now. But they are also great for dressing up as well.
Since I became a denim minimalist, I’ve actually not bought many new jeans in the past couple years, and when I gained weight, I sold my Levi’s. But these new styles have me excited and I’ll be ordering a few to try.
I saw these Levi’s XL Straight on someone at Instagram but didn’t know what style they were until just now. I’m a little smitten. They give that wide leg vibe in what I would call a “wide straight” jean.
Oh Em Gee, these Levi’s Ribcage Corduroy pants look just like my old Veronica Beard corduroy pants from years ago. See the old article here!
Anyway, I love corduroy in the fall and winter, but I don’t like to spend a ton so this is a perfect option!
What To Wear Fall 2024
Curved (Barrel Lite)
Look, I get it. You either LOVE or HATE barrel jeans. I’m somewhere in the middle because I prefer a less exaggerated “curved” leg. A pair that is interesting but not so bold.
Tibi Sid Jeans, Vintage Black, TTS (wearing 28)
First up, one of my very favorite brands of all time – Tibi. The Tibi Sid Jean has lots of width at the knees but such a cool shape. Tibi Sid jeans come in various colorways and even some in Petite sizing. Most of their denim are around the $500 mark, but they are also really unique.
The Tibi Classic Wash Sid (above) show the shape and style a bit better. They do get more tailored at the ankle but not so dramatic as some Barrel jeans.
B Sides Slim Lasso (I sized up)
I bought the B Sides Slim Lasso jeans last year (in a lighter wash) and every single time I wear them, people ask me for the brand. They feel very chic without being too crazy.
