The age-old conundrum – what to wear with white jeans in winter? Can I wear white jeans in winter? Should I? We say yes, and we will show you an easy formula you’ll love.

Stylist Tip! When wearing a turtleneck, leave your hair tucked inside the sweater except for a few strands in the front. Totally new chic look!
Here’s a weird thing I just realized…between October and December, I never wear white jeans. They just never feel right on me (I mean of course you can, I just never do).
But once January hits, I’m ready to pull them out again. Why? Because white jeans just give that little promise of Spring, a bit of light in the gloominess of Winter.

A Black Turtleneck
Sweater (similar) | Fleece (TTS) | Jeans (similar) | Boots (TTS/large)
I absolutely insist that every single person NEEDS a black turtleneck in their wardrobe. If I could only own one sweater…it would be a black turtleneck, no contest. It’s by far the most versatile, most cozy, most wearable thing I own in the Winter. It’s chic, it goes with literally everything, and you can dress it up or down.
And it really shines against white jeans.
Truthfully, any bold turtleneck works great with white jeans…the key is contrast. It’s that juxtaposition (or juxy as our friend, Jess @jessdreyfus, calls it) of a cozy winter sweater paired with light, usually-spring bottoms. It’s just so good.

Black Lug Boots

Could there be more of a juxtaposition between white jeans than black lug boots? I love my lug boots so much, but put them on with white jeans and it’s a whole other level.
I do also wear white jeans with my black converse or my black combat boots, but with lug boots, that insanely perfect thick sole, the heavy round toe…just nuts.
These were our top pick in our Everyday Booties Article. We both have and wear them constantly. Probably the chicest lug boots ever made. They are so darn good! Bloomingdale’s occasionally puts them on sale! Also including a budget-friendly pair!
I almost wore my black Converse and they would have given a different but also casually cool look. For more tips on how to style black Converse, this article shares all!

The Perfect Fleece Jacket

I cannot lie – we pondered this fleece for a long while before we bought it (we both have and love). For a fleece, it is on the pricier side, but it is so worth every single penny. And I doubt I’ll ever need to buy another.
I love that I can wear it with anything (and have).
But I especially love it with white jeans because again, it’s that fabulous contrast of an obviously winter jacket.
The Anine Bing Ryder is our favorite, in particular, because of the black leather details, the most perfect green (though it does come in a gorgeous tan and also black), and the soft and beautiful texture (not all fleece jackets are created equal).

A Patterned Bag

The final item that really makes this look pop is a fun patterned bag. In this case, I adore my green cat bag because it pulls both the black and green. Unfortunately it’s no longer available so I’ve pulled together some looks that work for both the tan and olive fleece jackets!
