Brown Corduroys Effortlessly Styled 9 Ways

Wearing the Mother Corduroy pants in Monks Robe (brown) with a fuchsia cable knit sweater by Free People.

Not a big surprise – I stumbled upon these gorgeous brown corduroys thanks to Tammy’s stellar shopping skills. She sent me a link to a beautiful navy pair (you’ll hear more about those soon) and I saw that they also came in this rich brown. I was immediately drawn to the color but styling them? Hmmmm…seemed like it could be a bit tricky.

I decided to take a risk and order them thinking there was a low likelihood that I’d actually keep them.

Boy was I wrong. These pants inject a heavy dose of Fall into my wardrobe and are actually effortless to style. Here are a few of my favorite ways to style brown corduroys.

1 – Brown Corduroys With A Tee

Wearing the Mother Hustler corduroy pants in Monks Robe (brown) with a Re/done equality tee, brown sandals and a silver Clare V bag.

Tee | Pants (size up 1) | Sandals (old) | Bag

Live somewhere that is slow to cool down? This outfit is basically perfect. All of the Fall feels without causing you to overheat. Any graphic tee would work but I particularly like one with a little color. I love how the bright colors play off the brown. And shoes? Really any nude or brown sandal would work.

OR you could go with a basic tee and add a fun retro sneaker like my favorite Rag and Bones. Gosh, I wish I’d thought of that sooner for this article.

NOTE: I know that my actual pants are only available in limited sizes, and I’m super annoyed about it. I am hoping for a restock, but if not, do not worry. I have rounded up a ton of seriously amazing alternatives at the end of this article.

2 – Brown Corduroys With Green
(Love the Earthy Vibe)

Green happens to be one of my favorite colors, it’s been majorly trending all year, and it’s going strong for Fall. I hope some of you snagged this Zadig blouse on sale this Summer, but if not, I linked a gorgeous cashmere sweater in a similar hue.

The pairing of green and brown gives me all of the Earthy Fall vibes. It also gives a nod to 70s styles, which, hey, also happens to be majorly trending. Although in my humble opinion, 70s style is always cool. (Look for an article next week on 70s style.)

I added sandals here, but this look would work equally well with brown boots (any shade) or even a metallic heel.

3 – Brown Corduroys With Hot Pink

Fushia and brown? Yes! This outfit is just fun. I grabbed this sweater a few weeks back – as soon as I saw it, I knew it’d be mine. It’s Free People so very budget friendly. I love the oversized, slouchy fit coupled with the cable knit detail. This is just the shot of color I need in my mostly neutral Fall and Winter wardrobe.

4 – Brown Corduroys With Stripes

Summer is over but that doesn’t mean we have to put away the stripes. I did a whole review on the brand KULE (here) – these tees are so worthy of the investment. Classicly chic pieces that are made to last. They are all good, but if I have to play favorites – the one I’m wearing here is my top pick.

5 – Brown Corduroys With a Denim Jacket

These pants were made to pair with denim. Tammy & I both have this denim jacket and it’s easily one of our most worn pieces. It’s so soft, stretchy and luxe – not your run of the mill jacket. I paired it with a silk camisole and silver pumps for a more elevated look. I love this for a Fall night out.

By the way, Im all about silver accessories. They make every outfit better. See my full article here.

6 – Or a Denim Button Down

And I couldn’t leave out my favorite Frank & Eileen button down. Do you guys notice that we really do wear the same key pieces over and over styled different ways? We really hope that comes through. Investing in fewer things that you truly love and styling them multiple ways – that’s always our goal.

I kept the silver pumps on here, but these could easily be swapped for boots or sneaks for a casual daytime look.

7 – Brown Corduroys With A Blue Sweater

Wearing the Mother Hustler corduroy trousers in brown with a blue short sleeved Vince sweater, camel Rag & Bone booties, and a leopard bag by Clare V.

More blue – these pants are just so pretty with blue I couldn’t resist. This sweater was in the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and is sadly sold out. I did link another sweater by Vince (same brand) in the exact same color – currently on sale.

And here you can see the brown corduroys paired with camel booties. Don’t stress over the color of your boots – basically any brown will do. If it’s an Earthy neutral, you are good. It’s truly hard to go wrong.

8 – Go Monochrome

Wearing the Mother Huster trousers in brown with brown boots, a camel Anine Bing coat and a leopard Clare V bag.

Coat | Sweater (similar) | Pants (size up 1) | Boots (similar) | Bag | Bag Strap

Point proven – here I mixed allll the browns for a chic monochromatic look –  it just works. I love this look for an evening out, but this also easily works for the office.

And if there is one piece that instantly elevates your look, it’s a camel coat. After searching high and low I settled on this one by Anine Bing. It’s a wool/cashmere blend and has the perfect slightly oversized, drapey fit. It has a belt that can be cinched or worn open as I’ve done here.

9 – Brown Corduroys Winterized

Wearing the Mother Hustler jeans in brown corduroy with a black sweater, black Moncler puffer coat, black Frame booties and a leopard bag.

And these pants aren’t just for Fall. They easily stand up to black as shown here with my black puffer. I think the key to this look is the leopard bag that brings it all together.

More on this Moncler puffer later. It’s most definitely an investment piece but one that will last for years. It’s crazy warm, chic (yes, I said chic!), and it’s almost light as air.

I love when I find one piece to inject into my wardrobe that makes all of my existing pieces feel fresh and new. These pants do just that. If you don’t have a pair of brown corduroys, I highly recommend.

Rachel
