Frank and Eileen Clothing – Our 3 Favorite Pieces!

We are both super fans of Frank and Eileen clothing. Not only are their pieces stylishly timeless and comfortable, but also sustainable. This is a company we can stand behind.

We believe in slow fashion—we start with the world’s finest raw materials found in nature—ethical, beautiful and sustainable since day one.

In 2009, founder Audrey McLoghlin (a former engineer) aspired to reinvent the button-up for women. We’d say she hit a home run.

Read all about Frank and Eileen’s clothing and story in their About Us to see why we are so smitten.

The Fabrics

Using only fully traceable fabrics, each special piece is made with impossibly soft, sustainable, and made-to-last fabrics.

Each of the shirts we love comes in multiple fabrics and you can read about them in detail in their Fabric Guide.

Tammy: I’m seriously obsessed with their soft denim materials. Like slipping into a pair of pajamas, these impossibly soft fabrics drape like a dream!

Barry Shirt

Shirt (up to M) | Shorts (up to 27) | Belt (up to M) | Shoes (TTS)

The Barry shirts are their most fitted style, sharply tailored to hug the waist and back with curves in all the right places.

Tammy: I have a curvy hourglass figure and per their instructions, I sized up to Medium (runs small by design).

With a 32DDD bra, I usually struggle with the fit of button-down shirts, and they often gape at the bust. Not so with these shirts, even with their fitted style. The fit is actually perfection and I will definitely consider future Barry shirts.

One thing I love about a good fitted shirt is that it accentuates the curves but also tapers in the waist. Sometimes an oversized fit on a bigger bust can make you appear bigger than you really are.

I also adore the open neckline that nicely lies like a v-neck. This is a rare quality in a button-down shirt, and gives them a more feminine feel.

I chose the Distressed Vintage Wash because I love the contrast and character which I’ve not seen in any other denim shirt. I also tried on the Blue Tattered Wash which was the perfect faded blue.

Eileen Shirt

Eileen’s relaxed fit flatters every figure and exudes a casual effortlessness. But the best part is: she’s generously cut. Tuck, tie or toss her on over…anything (a tank, a tee, even a swimsuit!)

Considered their easiest-to-pull-off shirt, they look incredible dressed up or dressed down. This is a style to live in—and love—forever.

Intentionally relaxed—stick with your true size for a looser look.

Frank and Eileen Clothing : The Eileen in Famous Denim

Shirt (TTS S) | Jeans (up 1 to 27) | Belt | Bag | Shoes (TTS)

Tammy: I purchased the Eileen in their White Famous Denim. I hadn’t anticipated keeping both the Barry and the Eileen, but honestly, these are the very best button-down shirts I’ve ever tried on. Even my husband told me I had to keep both (and he doesn’t say that lightly).

This shirt has the softest and most-easy drape, and is so flattering even in the looser cut. Sometimes a generously-cut button down will appear bulky, but the Eileen is perfectly figure-flattering.

✅ Style Tips:

For ultra feminine styling, try it unbuttoned in a wrap style as seen here: The button down wrap shirt. Another fun styling tip: The Mannequin Cuff.

Look 1: Coat (TTS) | Shirt (TTS, S) | Belt (size 80) | Jeans (26) | Pumps
Look 2: Shirt (TTS, S) | Bag (similar)
Look 3: Shirt (TTS, S) | Shorts (similar) | Belt | Bag

Rachel: The Eileen shirts are an absolute wardrobe workhorse for me, and the only piece I own in multiples. I have the white denim, distressed denim wash, and a vibrant acid washed hot pink (sadly sold out).

Size-wise, I wear a small even though I’m often an XS in shirts. I definitely agree that these run TTS, but since I’m taller the small was better for length. 5’5″ or under, I would have been better with the XS.

The sky is the limit with styling these. Here you see it styled up, worn as a jacket, and also with shorts. A true year-round piece.

Joedy Shirt

Left: Shirt (TTS, S) | Trench (old) | Jeans (old) | Shoes | Bag (similar)
Right: Shirt (TTS, S) | Jeans (size up 1) | Shoes | Bag (similar)

Relaxed, effortless, and laid-back, the Joedy is perfect for those obsessed with a chic menswear-inspired look. Joedy is intentionally oversized, with room to breathe and extra coverage in the back. A prominent pocket, a center-back pleat that flatters the silhouette, and a longer hemline makes Joedy just the right length to layer over leggings or jeans. This is an easy-to-wear shirt that goes the distance.

Rachel: I’ve had this shirt for so many years I’ve lost count. It’s the ultimate when it comes to a white button down, and it’s my top pick if you’re looking for a classic white shirt.

I adore it’s laid-back vibe. It has a slight crinkle to the fabric which makes it look effortless. But don’t get me wrong, this one is just as great for the office as it is worn casually. The fabric is super light and breathable, and it’s great year round.

This one runs TTS as well, and I wear a small just like in the Eileen.
