Sometimes I am in disbelief that Tammy & I started a fashion blog. I am truly a minimalist at heart and my style is fairly basic. I like to wear the the same things on repeat, and I have my formulas down to a science. One of the things I lean on the most is a bold accessory to add interest to a simple look. These silver accessories complete an outfit, and they are all I want to wear lately.
Silver Accessories – The Bag
Tee | Jeans (size down 1) | Heels @ Nordy | Heels @ Veronica Beard | Bag
I bought this bag in June with Summer in mind. It’s the perfect size and fits all of the essentials with a little room to spare + it goes from day to night effortlessly. What I didn’t expect was how much I’d love this bag for Fall & Winter. I tried it with a lot of the coats and boots in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and was blown away by how much I loved it – a few selfies later on in this article.
This bag is an amazing statement year-round and it’s effortless to carry. I did round-up some other cool options if this one isn’t totally your jam.
The Evening Ones
Note that the gold bag also comes in silver. Tammy has the silver Zadig bag – it is beautiful, and the quality is top notch. I’m not typically a huge Kurt Geiger fan but I’m swooning over this mixed metallic bag – so stunning.
The Day to Night Ones
Our friend, Kristin, found this gorgeous Karl Lagerfeld on sale! The Mark & Graham bag has a similar shape to my Clare V and is under $100! A steal. And the tote, well I’m drooling over it so I had to include, but it’s stupidly expensive.
Silver Accessories – The Shoes
Tee | Jeans (size down 1) | Heels @ Nordy | Heels @ Veronica Beard | Bag
These shoes are my favorite new thing in a long time. Every time we go out I find myself reaching for them. They effortlessly dress up just about anything and are oh so stunning. The heel height is 3″ but because it’s a block heel, they are surprisingly comfortable and walkable.
They are selling out at Nordstrom but there are more sizes available at Veronica Beard as well, so if you are dreaming about these – don’t wait! And I’m crossing my fingers for a restock.
These heels are amazing to dress up a simple Summer outfit but are equally great for Fall. And for the Holidays – these are basically perfect. (See below for a few Fall outfit ideas with these heels.)
I know they are on the pricier side – I contemplated them for weeks before taking the leap. But I did find a few other great budget friendly alternatives below.
SIZING NOTE: I am between a 6 and 6 1/2 in shoes and more frequently a 6. I definitely needed to size up to a 6 1/2 in these. So I’d say they run a smidge short. If you’re between sizes, definitely go with the larger size.
Budget Friendly Alternatives
There are some seriously good options here, but my first pick is the Vince Camuto pair. They are so dang good. Also there is something about that sleek silver pump that is drawing me in…
Silver Accessories – A Transitional Look
Top (TTS) | Jeans (Size up 1) | Heels @ Nordy | Heels @ Veronica Beard | Bag (Similar)
I posted this look the other day but thought I’d include it here as well. This is great for the Summer but also a perfect transitional outfit. I’d throw a trench over this in the Spring or a heavier coat in the Fall. The silver shoes take this look up a notch. And the feather bag, well that’s one of our go-tos.
The white button-down is at least four years old and is one of my most worn pieces. Not all button-downs are created equally…trust me. (More on this shirt here.) And we have received a few questions about these Moussy jeans. Yes they are stupidly expensive and yes they are amazing. Are they worth it? It comes down to how much you will wear them. Look for a Moussy article coming soon from Tammy & I.
Silver Accessories – Fall Ideas
These Silver accessories are an easy win for Spring & Summer but they are also amazing for the Fall & Winter (hello holiday season). I played a bit of dress-up and thew together some Fall outfit ideas incorporating these pieces. But seriously, they are so neutral and literally work with just about everything in my closet.
With Gray & Camel
Coat (similar)|| Sweater (TTS) | Jeans (size up 1) | Heels @ Nordy | Heels @ Veronica Beard | Bag
I am loving the silver shoes and bag with all of my gray sweaters – it has a bit of a monochrome vibe that is so chic. And gray and camel? Yes please. Love this one.
A quick note on the sweater – it is Zadig et Voltaire cashmere and one of our very favorites. Tammy has it in two color ways and posted about her navy one yesterday. They are expensive full price but Tammy & I both bought ours on sale. My gray one is currently only available full price but I’d bet money that it’s included in Bloomingdale’s Friends & Family sale that is around the corner.
In the meantime – Tammy’s gorgeous navy one is on final sale at Zadig. See Tammy’s post here with all of the details and see her sweater at Zadig.
And last but not least, the coat. Yep I am wearing the Reiss coat that sold out immediately in the Nordstrom Sale never to return. I love it but I’m honestly still debating. I just ordered the Anine Bing coat linked above to compare – I love that the Bing is 100% wool/cashmere blend vs the Reiss has synthetic materials. I will definitely let you guys know what I think when it arrives.
A Leather Jacket Always Works
Jacket (size up, wearing 38) | Jeans (size up 1) | Heels @ Nordy | Heels @ Veronica Beard | Bag (Similar)
Remember those go-to outfit formulas I was talking about earlier. Well, this is one. Sweater, leather jacket, a killer pair of jeans, done. Swap the shoes and bag depending on your mood, but these silver heels make this look ready for a night out.
Wear Them With All the Dresses
Leather Jacket (size up, wearing 38) | Dress (TTS) | Blazer (wearing 2) | Heels @ Nordy | Heels @ Veronica Beard | Bag
These shoes look amazing with basically any dress. I threw them on my with my favorite Vince slipdress and played around with the toppers. The blazer looks a bit more professional, while the black leather jacket has a bit more edge. (And please excuse my dress, it definitely needs a little steam.)
With a Menswear Inspired Coat
Coat (wearing 2 – in a few sizes) | Jeans | Camisole | Heels @ Nordy | Heels @ Veronica Beard | Bag
I love the femininity these heels add to a more masculine coat. And I also adore how the silver pops against all of the darker neutrals. This combination is a total winner in my book.
As you can see these silver accessories complete almost any outfit and pop in a chic and sophisticated way. If you want to invest in a long-term pair of silver heels, I can’t recommend these Veronica Beards enough. But if you just want to dip your toe, one of the budget friendly pairs I recommended would also be amazing. And the Clare V bag, well, I’m biased.
