5 Random Things I’m Currently Loving

This is likely the most unplanned article I’ve ever written but also one of my favorites …5 random things I’m currently loving.

COVID finally struck our house, and we’ve been hibernating all weekend with lots of sofa time and TV. Needless to say, I’m feeling a bit unprepared for the week.

Since I’ve been lounging in my new favorite pajamas for days, it made me think… There are a few things I’m absolutely loving right now but haven’t blogged about, so I decided to put together a quick post. There really is no rhyme or reason to this other than these things all make me happy.

Random things I'm currently loving include this Beyond Yoga Pajama set

(1) Beyond Yoga Pajamas

Beyond Yoga Pajamas (I sized up to a Small) | Slip Silk Sleep Mask

My Spring pajamas were in need of an update, and I noticed Beyond Yoga now has a pajamas line. Maybe they have for a while, I’m not totally sure, but it’s new to me! If you’ve ever tried Beyond Yoga workout leggings, you know they’re impossibly soft so I had a hunch their pjs would be good. I immediately added the short and tank set to my cart in black.

I love these things so much I’ve slept in them almost every night since they arrived. They are buttery soft (just like Beyond Yoga’s leggings), cover the bum, and are just flirty enough. I’m enjoying them so much I ordered the pants and anther tank in gray. I love that these pieces are mix and matchable too.

I’m eyeing the night gown next, and the weight of this robe would be perfect for warmer weather!

(2) Makeup Organization

Makeup Storage

We live in an 1908 bungalow that I adore, but it is definitely a bit short on storage and space. My bathroom is tiny, and I’m always looking for storage solutions. For the past few years I’ve kept my makeup in a caboodle (for lack of better word) stored under my sink. And I hated it. All my makeup was sort of jumbled together, and I despised having to lug it out and put it away every time I got dressed. I know, I know, not Earth shattering but definitely a minor daily annoyance.

When I returned from San Diego and unpacked, I decided I’d had enough of the caboodle and went online in search of a solution. I landed on this makeup organization set I found on Revolve with 5-star reviews. It’s high-quality plastic with pretty knobs, and definitely lovely enough to keep out on your bathroom counter – which is what I’m doing. My makeup has never been more organized or easy to grab, and I’m positively giddy over it.

Caboodle be gone!

(3) MOTHER Socks + Colored ConverseHigh Top Converse and statement socks shopping collage.

Lavender Sneaks | Blue Sneaks | Black Sneaks | MOTHER Socks

I’ve been wearing my lavender high tops + cheeky MOTHER socks so much. They are comfy, cute, and just make me smile. MOTHER has a ton of different sock options, and I included some of my favorites above. Pick your favorite colored sneak and statement sock, and wear them with all your denim. So easy and fun.

The high top Converse seem to sell out almost as soon as they’re released. If you spot a pair you love, don’t wait.

(4) Updated Spring/Summer Staples

These pieces I can guarantee you’ll see repeated a ton on the blog this Spring and Summer. I thought I’d throw a quick collage together in case anyone is shopping now (and I’m bored on the sofa – haha). These are a few of the Spring / Summer staple pieces I have snagged recently. I am over the moon about these pieces and think you will be too.

(1) I adore this vintage v-neck cami by Anthony ATM (who also makes our favorite white tee). If you are very long waisted, you might find it too short but I consider myself average-waisted (is that a thing?) and it’s perfect. The cut of it gives me all the retro vibes that I love.

(2) I just purchased this Anine Bing baseball cap in dark camel, and it’s amazing. The color is stunning and versatile, and I appreciate the extra long brim for sun protection.

(3) I’ve been carrying the Clare V. Pot de Miel for oh 4 years or so. I still love it but was ready for something new + mine is starting to look weathered. This Cult Gaia bag is so gorgeous with the round top handles and texture. It’s also the perfect size to carry all your everyday essentials with room to spare.

(4) My new Celine sunglasses that I purchased with the help of Tammy’s Nordstrom sunglass specialist in San Diego. Look for a sunglasses article soon (based on face shape) that she’s helping us put together. You won’t want to miss it! (For reference, I’m a heart shape face and these are seriously perfect.)

(5) A short with a 4″ inseam that doesn’t feel frumpy?! FOUND! I tend to carry my weight in my butt/thighs, and these fit me so well. Tammy has tiny legs and bum, and found the Paige Dani shorts fit her better. We both tend to size up one in shorts, me to a 26 and Tammy to a 27, and that was true of both these pairs.

(6) You guys have already seen this green Clare V. bag (here and here), and you’ll be seeing it more. This is the year of COLOR, and a vibrant bag is the perfect way to add color to a neutral wardrobe. Look for an article very soon on how to to add color to your wardrobe.

(7) I’ve tried quite a few sandals recently without much success, until Tammy recommended these K. Jacques. I’m fully obsessed. Expect to see a full review on this brand very soon. Available at Shopbop.

(5) Jones Road Miracle BalmJones Road Miracle Balm in dusty rose

Jones Road Miracle Balm

Jones Road is Bobbi Brown’s new line, and it’s really good. From Jones Road…

Jones Road was founded by makeup artist Bobbi Brown on the philosophy that the world doesn’t need more beauty products. It needs better beauty products. Clean, strategic, high-grade formulations that work on every skin type and tone—and that are as simple to use as they are to master. Jones Road is a lifetime of beauty knowledge, distilled.

I’ve talked about my love of Westman Atelier makeup, and that still stands true. However, during the week and almost every day during the warmer months, I like to wear the bare minimum when it comes to makeup. This Jones Road miracle balm is truly game-changing for no-makeup days. I use my fingers to blend it in on my cheeks, eye lids, and lips and it provides a gorgeous wash of natural color (think a real-life Instagram filter). Other than that, I typically just swipe on a bit of mascara and brow pencil. There is no going back for me.

A quick note on this product – you do have to “break the seal”, which simply means you press down hard with your finger until you break past the top layer…that’s where all the goodness is.

I have the colors dusty rose, tawny, and flushed but can’t wait to try more.

Ritual – Ordered! And so excited…

Ritual Vitamins

Ritual

I’m not a huge supplement person, but I do like to take a daily multi-vitamin. Somehow I’ve completely fallen out of the habit over the past year or so, and I’m looking to fix that. I did a little research on the best vitamins and discovered this brand which has glowing reviews.

I love that it’s two easy-to-swallow gel capsules with a mint flavor (I’m a baby with large, bad-tasting pills). These vitamins aim to fill the gaps and include what we are typically missing from our diets versus dosing us on things we are likely getting plenty of (for example Vit C). I’m not an expert, but you can read all about them on the Ritual Website. I’ll report back for sure.

And by the way, they even have vitamins specifically for men and teens. I ordered these for the entire family.

Ritual also makes a protein powder that can be purchased separately or bundled with their vitamins. I recently completed The Lift to Get Lean Program for women in peri-menopause, and my biggest take-away is that for women our age it is critical that we (1) get enough protein and (2) lift weights. I love that this Ritual protein powder is “clean” and provides an easy 20 grams of protein.
