The Pair I Kept

Veronica Beard is a favorite brand of ours and the Veronica Beard Grant button fly raw hem wide leg jeans in Army are pretty fabulous.
Why did I choose them? I love that the cropped wide leg and sleek silhouette makes them a snap to dress up, but the raw hems add a little edge. They are more of a denim weight but incredibly soft with a beautiful drape. I also adore the button fly.

My only hesitation? They don’t have front pockets. I liked them enough to buy them anyway. I still try to put my hands in them out of habit, but instead I hook onto the belt loops, ha!
I usually have to size up to 27 in Veronica Beard, but I had to size up to 28 in these (they run really small).

Other Pairs I Liked
I’m not sure if you guys have figured this out about me yet, but I have a hard time buying something without first exhausting all the options.
I’ve been this way my whole life, about every single thing, making shopping quite the ordeal. My husband calls it paralysis by analysis. So, when I recommend something, you can rest assured that I’ve compared the alternatives.
Paige (My Other Faves)
These were my second choice. There are two styles, but I tried the flat waistband. I found them to be TTS (26 for me). I’ve read that they will stretch out a bit after wearing so definitely don’t size up.
Cropped
I tried both the Frame and Pistola – both are great but more casual than I wanted. The Frame are a heavier weight than the Pistola.
Full Length
I haven’t personally tried these, but I’ve read some great reviews about the Hudsons, and the seams are super unique and pretty on the Frames.

Rachel here: I am a huge fan of Alex Mill. Their styles are always on point, and the prices are really good for amazing quality. These utility pants give me all the 70s vibes and are a breeze to style up or wear casually – they are a true workhorse. They are made of a recycled denim so they are a bit weighty. I adore the deep pockets and seam details as well. These come in a ton of colors, and I’ve been eyeing the cream. I’m a 25/26 in denim and wear a 2 in these, so they do run a bit big.

More Style Ideas…
When we craft these Style Boards, we always try to mix and match the same pieces we use in our wardrobes all the time. We hope this also helps you create your own perfect capsule wardrobe.
We love our wardrobe basics, and we believe that orange is a neutral that goes with everything. These wardrobe basics are the things every good closet needs.
The Rag & Bone Riley is a total winner. Wear it with a bra, bralette, or fitted tank. Dress it up or down and wear it all summer long.
Hot pink is another one of our very favorite colors to pair with anything. And a silk camisole is the perfect piece to wear year-round. We wear ours with shorts, jeans, pants, under blazers or sweaters.
