Orange Accessories to Wear That Make A Chic Statement!

Bright orange is one of my all-time favorite colors, and I’m going to show you a few orange accessories to wear that make a chic statement. These pieces are shockingly versatile and go with 90% of my wardrobe (maybe more!) And they breathe fresh life into all the basics I already have and love. In my opinion, this is the easiest (and coolest) way to update your wardrobe right now.

Style Reports / Upcoming Trends

Bold color is one of the biggest trends of 2022. And after a very long pandemic that included masks, sweatpants, and staying home – adding happy colors to our wardrobes feels just right.

See the StyleCaster article These Spring Color Trends Make A Case for Throwing Out Your LBD. Some of the colors that are trending are primary blue, lime, hot orange, cerulean, yellow, and kelly green.

We’ve heard a few of you say, but are these vibrant pieces too trendy? I get not wanting to invest in a piece that will be dated a season later, and it’s why we are always selective with the trends we choose to follow. In this case, we truly believe that risk is extremely low, and this is a solid investment.

First, all the runways and style reports we’ve been reading say that color is here to stay, and one of the colors that will be huge this Fall – Tiger Orange! These Are The Fall 2022 Top Color Trends From New York Fashion Week.

And ultimately, is color ever really out of style anyway? We don’t think so! While these colors are trending, they are also ultimately timeless.

The Belt

This tiny orange belt is honestly the thing I might be most excited about this Spring/Summer. I adore how this small slice of orange elevates everyday basics which is honestly what I wear most in the warmer months. The easiest way to approach this belt style wise is to think of it as a tan belt and style it just like that. In the first photo above, you can see I’m wearing flat tan sandals and they look great with this belt. It’s also available in a pretty green. I’m wearing a size small, 25/26 in denim.

These heels make my heart a skip a beat I love them so much. Like the belt, they are by Frame and in the color orange crush. This is the perfect shade of orange – not neon, but enough of a pop to make them modern and super stylish. I’m not typically into being overly “matchy” but pairing the belt and shoes just feels fresh, especially with basics. Though it’s definitely not necessary to have both.

In addition to being the perfect shade of orange, these heels are a great height – 3.25″ and extremely walkable with a cushy footbed. I also appreciate that you can slip them on quickly with no buckling required.

A Quick Note on My Top:

A quick note on this top because it really deserves a post to itself it’s so good. It’s by the brand XiRENA, which Nordstrom just recently started carrying and can also be found at MOTHER and Shopbop. We are really impressed with their pieces, especially the airy sundresses and tops.

This top is made of a gauzy material which is a favorite because it’s so light and breathable. There are two layers so it’s not overly sheer, I’m wearing a black bra in these photos. The cuffed sleeves are tacked which I really like (no ironing down after washing), and the v-neck is just low enough to make it a little sassy but still completely daytime appropriate. I’m wearing a small for an oversized fit but I would say it’s fairly TTS. There are a few sizes left at Nordstrom, and it’s mostly stocked at MOTHER in white and black. It’s seriously the perfect Spring/Summer top.

Back to the shoes…

I know that my Frame sandals are on the pricier side and in addition to that, some of you might prefer a flatter sandal. I rounded up my very favorite orange sandals – and trust me, I was picky on the shade of orange.

Other Orange Heeled Sandals
*Budget-Friendly

I tried the Naturalizer pair in person and they are extremely comfortable and chic. I haven’t personally tried on the Dolce Vita pair but I did hold them in my hands, and they felt quality for the price and again, the color is spot on. And lastly, I haven’t seen the pair by Schutz but I love their simplicity.

Flat Orange Sandals

There honestly weren’t a ton of great ones in the budget-friendly category here. The two strappy pairs are by Vince and seriously beautiful, worth the splurge in my opinion. The Schutz pair (under $100) was recently released and a flat version of the heeled sandal linked above – they look good!

Bags

I don’t personally have an orange bag, but this is definitely another way to go. Add an orange bag to your wardrobe and wear it with everything. Totally outfit making and effortless.

My Top 3 Picks

The Frame bag is in the same color as my sandals and belt – orange crush, and again it’s perfect! I love this for a crossbody to wear everyday but it’s dressy enough for evening too. The Staud bean bag is on preorder. I have it in olive green and it’s super cute and amazing quality but very small. In my opinion best for evenings. This color looks amazing! And the Hyer Goods Bag has very similar vibes to the Frame at an affordable price but it’s going fast!

A Few Others I Noticed

Orange Accessories to Wear
Jewelry

Another fun way to add a subtle pop of orange? Jewelry! A little flash of orange mixed in with your other jewelry is so unexpected and fun. Tiny details like this are what take a look from basic to stylish.

Marla Aaron enameled heart lock in tacky

Marla Aaron Heart Lock (Tacky)

If you’ve been with us for a little bit, you’ve almost certainly heard us talk about our love of Marla Aaron Jewelry – see our article here, Marla Aaron Jewelry: Our Pieces And Wishlists. Since writing that article I’ve set my eyes on this heart lock in orange (Marla calls it Tacky, yes tacky, but in the best way). It’s a splurge but I could not leave it out of an article purely devoted to the color orange. Tammy is coveting this same lock in pink. We’d wear on a chain as a necklace or bracelet.

A Few Other Splurgy Pieces While We’re Dreaming

Budget-Friendly

Tammy tried this bangle bracelet on in store. It’s really great and also comes in multiple colors.

How to Style

*Outfit details at end of article.

Orange is extremely easy to add to basically any neutral as I’ve done here. It looks equally great with white, black, denim, green etc. I love how the pop of orange livens up an otherwise fairly basic look. Even if you just add the belt as I did in the first picture above – that little sliver of orange is everything.

More Style Ideas…

Spoiler alert! You’re getting a sneak peek of the things I’m most excited about for Spring and Summer. You’ll probably see each of these looks on the blog, but I wanted to show you how versatile orange truly is…it’s basically a neutral!

Mix your colors! If you’re like me and don’t like bright colors from head to toe, this is a great approach. A colorful printed camisole balanced out with denim and a white blazer (or wear sans blazer). You’ll note here there isn’t any orange in the camisole – no problem! Don’t overthink this…step back and take a look at your outfit as whole. I actually love that it’s not overly matchy – it gives an effortlessly cool vibe.

Love your black but want to make it feel a bit Spring-forward, yep just add orange! I recently snagged this Anine Bing tank. It’s so edgy and cool and great on its own or under a blazer (no bulk!). More soon.

This obviously falls into the mixing neutrals and orange which I’ve already talked about, but there’s something about the camel/orange combo that particularly makes me swoon. It feels so fresh.

Our Favorite Orange Clothing Items

Looking for an actual orange clothing piece to add to your wardrobe? These are our current favorites and both are included in the Bloomingdales Friends and Family Sale happening now!

We both have and love the MOTHER jeans, see them styled in this article, Are Colored Jeans In Style? If between sizes, go with the larger. And this Vince dress is stunning in person (the color is so much better than it appears online). I have this exact dress in black and it’s incredibly flattering. I wear an XS so no need to size up in this one.

Also, if you’re looking to add a pop of orange to your loungewear, Vuori has the prettiest orange out right now. I couldn’t resist the performance joggers in this color and have been wearing them a ton, mostly with a white tank.

Orange Accessories to Wear
Wrap-Up

Color is here to stay and we are crazy excited about it. I’m particularly partial to this bright orange (tiger orange we’re calling it). While this orange is my favorite color I don’t necessarily want to wear it from head to toe, but accessories? I’m fully on board! This article is full of my very top picks of orange accessories to wear that take any outfit from basic to chic. In my opinion, this is the easiest and coolest way to update your look this season.
