Reformation Dresses – Size Inclusive and Sustainable Too!

Rachel and I are both fans of Reformation dresses – they are just so feminine, flirty, and always make us feel pretty. And bonus, Reformation focuses on sustainability and is also size inclusive carrying both petite and extended sizes — how cool is that?!

Rachel recently posted about her Reformation dress (in blue) and she convinced me I needed it in green…I love all things green.

Wearing the Reformation Gavin dress.

I didn’t buy it years ago because I didn’t think it would be flattering on me. Rachel convinced me that it was flattering even if you have a tummy, not too tight, and just easy.

The biggest issue is in the bra department. I can’t go braless (32DDD) so I tried a sticky bra. It actually worked great except that it wasn’t a great sticky bra (it showed the edges a bit). Rachel recommended her favorite Nippies and the rest, shall we say, is history. Nippies are the quite possibly the greatest invention to hit the breast in forever!

We needed to be out all day running errands and then dinner reservations that night, so I thought I would put it through the ringer and see how I like it both casual and dressed up.

I am pretty picky about longer dresses. Rachel and I are both 5’7″, but we are built pretty differently. I am curvier and have a longer torso and shorter legs. She is a little straighter with a shorter torso and long legs. In most things, she is one size smaller than me (she is XS to my S generally). In this dress she is wearing 2 and I am wearing 6.

Yep, I copied her look. I mean, it’s what we do, ha!

But she put it together all so perfectly and while I tried a few other things first, it just wasn’t as good. This was perfection.

We had to go to Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach. This place is amazing and full of all kinds of cute shops. It was, weirdly, quiet for a Saturday. It’s been like that a lot since Covid shutdowns which makes me so sad. I think a lot of the businesses along here have suffered, and some have left. It’s heartbreaking.

A lovely woman and her dog saw us taking a picture and exclaimed what a great spot it was for photos. I was oohing and aahing over her gorgeous pup and next thing I know, she was in the pictures with me! She was a doll, and this is my favorite photo of the day!

We had 6:30 dinner reservations, and I made a simple switch of shoes, bag, and put my hair up in a very messy bun – easy transformation from day to night!

Note about the Cult Gaia Mini Ark bag: It is currently sold out everywhere. This bag comes back in stock occasionally and immediately sells out. I really do wish that they would make more because it’s so cute and popular. Rachel found her older style version on Poshmark, and I highly recommend stalking if you really want this adorable statement bag!

The dress is sexy, no doubt about it. When you walk, especially if there’s a breeze, the slit does go up pretty high, but that would be an easy fix with just a few stitches and the slit would be more conservative. And the open back…it’s more exposed on me probably because I have a longer torso. But I also love it. I loved wearing it all day (it was very comfortable). I felt pretty great in it, which is kind of the point of special dresses like this.

Most of the Reformation dresses come in a bunch of fabric choices, and a lot come in both petites and extended sizes. Their models are also of all shapes and sizes, which we love!

The verdict on Reformation dresses? Absolutely love. No hesitation whatsoever! This is my second of the Reformation dresses this summer, so I’m a believer.

Cheers to more outings!
