Everyone needs a few pairs of good black pants. In fact, I have a pair I bought from Banana Republic 11 years ago that are still great!
Most of mine are cropped though, and I’ve been looking for the quintessential high-waist, wide-leg, floor-length black pants.
Should be easy, right? I thought so too! I must have tried on 97 pairs over the past three years searching. Then Spring would hit, and I’d give up. Well I finally found a pair I love. I didn’t even have to hem them!
I’ve said this before, but Frame has really been upping their game the past couple years. Weirdly I don’t think I’ve ever owned any Frame denim!
What I love about this style of black pants is that they are such a go-to for events, business, dates, even cocktail attire! Rachel has a pair of Vince that she has had for years and still loves. It’s just one of those “buy once and done” items.
I also plan to wear these for a lot of our holiday events (I hate being cold and most events this year are outdoors or indoors/outdoors).
These pants do run large, as I had to size down to 2 which I haven’t done since pre-kids, ha!
I’m also madly in love with my new L’Agence Gisele shoes (worn for hours the other night without issue) and they go perfectly with my many-years-old clutch (and would go with a bunch of our favorite Clare V. bags too)! I only like very minimal pops of animal print like with a bag or shoes.
My blouse is old but I linked a similar version also by Zadig & Voltaire. I always shop my closet first and try not to duplicate anything that I already have. Which is one reason to buy quality the first time, especially with basics that you’ll use over and over. Shoes are TTS (wearing 7.5). As always, things seem to be selling out like crazy, ugh, sorry!
