Wearing a Vince silk blouse in navy with ripped loose 90s jeans in front of a modern house with an orange door.

A Silk Blouse plus Distressed Denim…Chic And Cool

A silk blouse plus distressed denim…

This is another example of an outfit made up of classic, investment pieces…most of which I’ve had for years (with the exception of the jeans). I’ll probably start sounding like a broken record, but I do firmly believe in investing in quality pieces that stand the test of time (with fun and trendy pieces sprinkled in to keep it interesting).

Here, I really love the contrast of a refined, silk top paired with an edgier pair of destroyed jeans. The jeans keep the top from feeling too serious.

I have even paired this top with cutoff denim shorts…I still love my short shorts, but I do find that the older I get, the more comfortable I feel balancing them out with more conservative tops. And, it’s obviously a slam dunk for the office when paired with trousers and heels.

It’s truly an amazing investment piece that is completely timeless and crazy versatile. It’s a classic Vince piece that has been around for years, and can often be found on sale in certain colors as the seasons transition.

***(Oooh guys, I found a few really similar ones on sale now in the most gorgeous colors! See links below.)

And last thing  – I talked about this trick last week as well, but my favorite way to spice up a button down or simple blouse, is by piling on a bunch of necklaces. I’ve been collecting Marla Aaron pieces for years now – and I am obsessed. But you can easily pull this look off with any stack – have fun and be creative!
