Longer denim shorts? A year ago I would have said inconceivable. I have loved my short denim shorts for a long time. But this year Rachel and I are both feeling a little more exposed in them. I’m still wearing them, but I’m grabbing them less often.
I still don’t like LONG denim shorts, but I am dipping my toe into longer denim shorts, and I’ve tried a bunch in the last couple weeks. The pair I settled on? A brand that is totally new to me…Moussy. I was able to try all the Moussy shorts at a little local boutique (Matti D). They have a lot of different fits, something for pretty much everyone.
Initially I balked at the price, but after trying a bunch of other brands and styles, and not finding quite the right thing, I decided to bite the bullet and pay the price, knowing I will wear them to death. What I love about this particular brand / style is that they are high waisted (great for us long waisted girls!) and also they are perfectly fitted in the waist, and wider at the hips and thighs. I am an hourglass, and often jeans will fit everywhere else but are too big in the waist. It’s frustrating! So I think this brand has solved that issue. I’ll definitely be looking towards a pair of jeans in the fall!
I sized up to 27. They are neither tight nor loose (really a perfect fit) but they are 100% cotton so they should stretch out a little (which I am fine with as I like my shorts a little slouchy).
