Rachel and I each tried on both pairs, together and in person (on my recent Denver trip), and this is what we ended up with.
We always knew we had differences, aside from Rachel always being a size smaller than me in everything. Being together for the first time, and being able to try the same things really helped us clarify those differences.
Tammy’s Purchase: Jeffrey Campbell Mr. Big
Tammy – I have a slightly wider toe box and that made it difficult to get my foot all the way into the Marc Fisher. I also didn’t like the way it looked on my foot from above, but part of that is that less of my toes showed since my foot didn’t go far enough forward. Alternately, the Jeffrey Campbell is suited for a wider toe box, and this fit my foot perfectly.
The style reminds me of that sophisticated Chanel box stitch, which I love. I walked in them for hours (incredibly fun photo shoot together!) and found them very walkable, aside from the fact that I did get a blister on the top of one toe, probably from being brand new, but aside from that, not a single issue. Love them! TTS and wearing 7.5 for a perfect fit!
Rachel’s Purchase: Marc Fisher Draya
**Sale Alert: These are included in the Bloomie’s Buy More / Save More event ending this Sunday, but linked at both Nordstrom & Bloomingdales.
Rachel – I love these shoes! Just like Tammy said, the Jeffrey Campbell is perfect for a sightly wider toe box, whereas these are perfect for a narrower foot. These are super on trend, make a statement and don’t break the bank. This is my new favorite date night shoe. I wore them last night with jeans and a white tank and they totally made the outfit.
Size-wise I am between a 6 and 6 1/2, and in these, I am a solid 6 1/2 – so they do run a smidge small. They have a 3 1/2″ heel but are very easy to walk in, and as far as heels go, they are decently comfortable. Like Tammy, they did give me a blister on the top of one of my toes – but I do think it was because we did so much walking and it was my first time wearing them.
