My favorite summer tops are the ones I get excited to wear out and about. Especially in fabrics that are soft, light, and airy and keep me cool but still feeling pretty.
It’s surprisingly hard to find…why is that? So many cute summer tops are in fabrics that don’t breath or move with you. Anyone else get hot easily?!
Smythe is a new-to-me brand, introduced by my favorite stylist, Brit, (hi Brit!) at my local boutique Matti D. If you live around San Diego, CA, I highly recommend this shop for only the best unique pieces.
At first glance, I thought the pattern was too bold for me. And then I put it on my body, and I couldn’t have been more wrong. I LOVE this top. As in love-love! And it’s so lightweight and soft, it’s like wearing featherweight fabric.
Because I always want to maximize my wear on any item, before taking off the tags, I tried it on with white shorts, denim cut-offs, and blue jeans. All equally as good as with the white jeans I paired with last week.
I’ll be wearing this all summer long, as well as keeping an eye on this brand going forward. So good! I also just discovered that Smythe is a Canadian brand! Canadian girl here, I always have a sweet spot for fellow Canadians (and I’ve been listening to Barenaked Ladies lately, too, ha!)
Sizing Tip: This top is slightly generous in fit. I am actually wearing size XS (S was out of stock at the time), but it is fitting more cropped with shorter arms on me. S would have been even better perhaps, but I still love the fit of this on me!
